Residential Geothermal - Welcome!
It may surprise you to learn that Geothermal energy has been used by people since the time of the Roman Empire!
Now, geothermal energy is being used mostly to provide energy to ground source heat pumps, also called geothermal heat pumps. These heat pumps get heat from the ground during winter and put heat back into the ground during summer. You can even have a geothermal system installed for your home so you won't have to use conventional air-source heat pumps that take too much energy.
Residential geothermal systems may be installed in almost any residential structure of various sizes. Pipes and tubing can be installed under almost any type of lot: under landscaped areas, lawns, driveways, or even the house itself. An existing house can be installed with a residential geothermal heat pump system using the ductwork that's already in place. But first, you need to find an installer that is certified and experienced enough. The installer will then assess the ductwork you have and tell you if modifications need to be made or if new pipes and tubes have to be bought to create a new ductwork system.
Residential geothermal systems are great for those who want to conserve energy and save some money in the process. Although the initial cost of installing a residential geothermal system is greater than that of conventional heating systems, you'll still save much as time goes by. This is because a geothermal system uses less energy than conventional heating systems.
